Capital and chief port of the Peloponnese Kalamata is a charming town. In the
evening the town comes alive especially along the waterfront. Tavernas, seafood
restaurants and bars line the beach road.
In the summer cultural events such as concerts, plays and the dance festival are
held in the amphitheatre of the castle.
